To follow this tutorial, you need an Oculus Quest headset with the HakoBio VR app installed. It is recommended to watch this article first: Access HakoBio XR App.
Open a Poject in First Person View
- Set the View perspective to “First Person.”
- Select the project you want to open, or search for it using the search bar.
- Then hold button A on the right controller to confirm the action.
Position of maps and equipment
When you enter a new project, you will first need to position the maps before being able to explore it.
Follow the instruction writing in the headset:
Move the room or the equipment using the joysticks.
- Use the left joystick to move forward, backward, left, or right.
- Use the right joystick to rotate your view – tilt left or right to snap-turn 90° at a time.
- Use left controller X and Y button to place the map Up or down
Right joystick to turn around
Visualisation switch VR/ MR
Highly recommended if you feel dizzy quickly.
The VR mode is totally immersive, you are placed in a complete virtual environment.
If you don’t feel comfortable, dizzy, or you don’t have enough space to walk freely, you can switch to MR view in one click.
This means that you are exploring your facility but can still see the real world around you and remain aware of your surroundings.
You can switch at any time by clicking the button X on the left controller.
Teleport on the map
If you don’t have enough space to walk freely in VR, you can teleport to a specific point.
Access the map: turn your wrist as if you were looking at a watch.
Teleport: With your right controller point a specific destination and maintain the button with your index until you spone on your new spot.
Access Setting
To access the setting of the experience you need to push the Settings button on the Left controller :
Set up Position:
The ‘Set Up Equipment’ button allows you to change the position of the map when it was previously defined.
The controls are the same as before.
Set up equipment:
To interact with equipment follow this tutorial first : Basics in XR App
This button replaces the set-up position only when you have selected an equipment.
When an equipment is selected, you will see all the other equipment ‘ghosted’ and this button available in the HakoBio menu.
You can then move the equipment itself with the same controls as for the room position.
Add equipment:
By clicking this button, you are able to add another element to the scene.
An equipment can be found by category or by using the search bar and typing the specific name of the equipment.
When the position suits you, hold button A on the right controller to confirm the action.
HD
Clicking the HD mode allow you to have an image with better quality. By default it is activated.
1-R
Connected to MR mode only
If your facility has more than 1 room, this feature can be interesting for you.
When you switch from VR to MR, you suddenly are able to see the equipment outside of your room, but you are also able to move it even if you are not inside that specific room. If you don’t want to be able to move or visualise equipment outside the room where you are located, you can select this icon in the HakoBio settings.
Online user:
- Online users 0 = You have no internet connection.
- Online users 1 = You are connected and people can see you using a session if you are in a multiplayer session.
- Online users 1 or more = You and your team are sharing the same experience at the same time, unlocking further options for the multiplayer mode.
Multiplayer mode

Moving equipment:
In a multiplayer session, your colleague can also add equipment to the same session as yours. When they add equipment, the concerned equipment will be highlighted in green while it is moving.
Adding equipment:
You can also add equipment while another person is doing the same.
The equipment being added by another person will be highlighted in green, while the equipment you are moving at the same time will remain visible as well.
Presenter Mode:
If you need to present a facility while preventing your audience from interacting with the project, you can select the ‘Presenter Mode’ button available in the HakoBio menu.
With this mode activated, you will be the only person able to interact with the project, while everyone
else will be able to observe your actions.
To stop presenting, select the same button again.
Share set-up:
The Share Set-Up feature is used when multiple people are experiencing the same session in the same room.
When you share the set-up, everyone connected to the same session will receive the maps in the position you have defined, so that everyone in the room is looking at the same element together.
