Research in the Asset Manager

The Asset Manager provides a simple way to consult all the equipment information you need. Simply by selecting a piece of equipment, you can find everything related to it.

The Asset Manager available only to users whose licenses include the Asset Management extension.

How to access to the asset manager:

Editor mode:

When you enter edit mode, you have two ways to access the Asset Manager.

First, you can double-click on a piece of equipment and open the Asset Manager section in the features panel on the left side of the window.

Second, you can first open the Asset Manager panel and then search for the equipment. You can then click on it, and you will have all the information available.

Viewer Mode:

For the viewer mode it is quite similar.

  1. Select a piece of equipment, then check the Asset Manager by clicking on the (i) icon. To select the equipment in this version, you just need to click on it once.

2. You can also first open the Asset Manager menu and then search for the equipment.

Research in the Asset Manager

In both version the research is the same.

The first element you can choose is what you decide to see. You have two options: seeing the current project, which means that you can only access the information visible in the project you currently have open, or seeing the Entier Entity, if your project is part of one.

Being part of an entity means that multiple projects are related to each other, often the case when you design multiple floor plans and group them together as part of an entity.

In that case, it means that even if you are not currently visualizing the project itself, you can still access its information and equipment.

When you search using the search tab, you first need to specify what you are looking for. You have:

  1. Equipment
  2. room
  3. HVAC

This search is broad, so if you select ‘equipment’ and enter a number such as xxx, all the equipment that contains this same number in its name or even description will appear in the list below.

Then there is an advanced search. This allows you to find a specific piece of equipment more quickly. When you select the advanced search option, you have multiple categories that you can use to find a specific piece of equipment. You don’t need to fill them all in, just select the one that is most convenient for you.

When you finish your search, do not forget to clear it. Failing to do so can lead to mistakes and misunderstandings.

In the list resulting from your search, you can see multiple pieces of information. You have the room, along with its name. If the label is purple, it means that the room is present in the current project you have open; if it is green, it belongs to another project, but one that is connected to the one you have open.

then bellow you have all the equipment that are located in the room.

If you select a piece of equipment that has been linked to some data, you will be able to access the information related to this equipment.

You have 3 main category :

  1. Equipement
    1. General
    2. Equipment
    3. Metrology
    4. And more! These categories can be configured and customized if needed.
  2. Agenda: where you can check the availability of the equipment.
  3. Comments: a space where you can see the comments left by previous users. You can also leave a comment there to inform the next user of any important information about the equipment.
