This guide explains how to install or update the HakoBio VR app on Meta Quest headsets using SideQuest.
Some organizations may not be able to use this method to install applications due to internal security firewalls.
Before installing or updating the HakoBio VR app:
- You have a Windows computer (SideQuest installation and sideloading are not supported on macOS).
- Ensure your Meta Quest headset is activated in developer mode.
- You have a USB-C cable allowing data transfer between your headset and computer.
- You have access to the latest version of the HakoBio VR app.
You can contact us to verify whether you have the latest version or authorized access to the HakoBio VR app.
1. Unable your headset to access to the developer mode
You have to first follow the instruction to enable to put your headset in developer mode.
Then go on your Meta Horizon App on your phone to enable the headset to be in developer mode.In the Meta Horizon app:
- Go to Devices.
- Select your headset.
- Go to Headset Settings.
- Find and enable the Developer Mode option.
- Restart your headset.

2. Install Side Quest :
Using SideQuest to install an application on the Meta Quest 3 headset.
SideQuest is software that serves as a bridge between your computer and your virtual reality headset.
It acts as an interface to easily install external applications (APK files) such as our product.
- Download and install SideQuest
If you haven’t already, download SideQuest from the official website and make sure you have the latest version.

2. Connect your headset to the computer
Connect your Meta Quest 3 headset to your computer using a high-quality USB-C cable.
A red LED in SideQuest indicates that the headset is not yet recognized.

Once the headset is detected, this LED will turn orange.
Allow the connection in the headset. Put on your headset. A message will appear asking you to allow USB debugging.
Check “Always allow from this computer” (if you wish), then press “Allow”
Once the headset is detected, this LED will turn orange.
3. Check the connection
Once permission is granted, the LED in SideQuest will turn green. This means the headset is properly connected and ready to receive files.
3. Upload HakoBio File
For this part, please contact us. We will provide you with the necessary APK link to install the correct experience on your headset.

- Click on the “Install APK from PC” icon in SideQuest
- Select the APK file for the Hakobio application that we provided to you.
- The installation will start automatically, and a confirmation message will appear once it’s complete!
You can now find the experience available in your library or under “Unknown Sources.”
4. Update an Existing VR App Version
- Open SideQuest and connect your headset.
- Verify the green connection status.
- Check the Task Manager to confirm the uninstallation.
- Select Install APK file from folder on computer in the top right corner.
- Upload the latest HakoBio VR app (.apk file).
- Open SideQuest’s Task Manager to confirm that the installation completed properly.
