Resizable Placeholder Objects

Placeholder objects are a practical way to continue designing your facility when the exact equipment model you need isn’t yet available in the Product Portfolio.

These generic, resizable items let you block out space, plan your layout accurately, and move forward without interruption — and you can easily replace them with the final equipment later on.

Use and Resize a Placeholder Object

  1. Search “resizable” in the Product Portfolio to view available options.
  2. Drag and drop the placeholder object into your project.
  3. Double-click to select it.
  4. Open the Info panel to enter custom dimensions and adjust its size.

If the size fields aren’t editable, that item is not resizable.

Why use Placeholders?

While working on a digital twin project, placeholder objects can help you:

  • Continue designing even when you don’t have the exact equipment yet
  • Reserve accurate space for upcoming equipment selections
  • Maintain design momentum without waiting for new models to be added

And if you’re missing something important, feel free to contact us – we continuously expand the Product Portfolio based on user needs.
