How to Use the 3D Viewer

The 3D Viewer provides a fast and intuitive way to explore your facility. It loads quickly, is easy to navigate, and connects directly to the Asset Manager and Agenda, allowing you to review layouts, access key data, and reserve assets from a single visual interface.

Open a Project in the 3D Viewer

  1. From the Homepage, go to the Solution Builder menu.
  2. Select the project you want to open.
  3. Choose View mode.

If you have editing rights, you will see two options in the dropdown menu of the project: View and Edit. Select View to access the new 3D Viewer.

The first time you open a project, loading may take slightly longer. This initial load ensures smoother performance in future sessions.

Interact with Your Project in the 3D Viewer

Basic Interactions

You can interact with the plan using the following controls:

  • Right-click and drag to rotate the project and explore the space from different angles
  • Left-click and drag to pan across the layout
  • Mouse wheel to zoom in and out
  • Zoom In / Zoom Out icons if a mouse is not available
  • Recenter icon to quickly reset the project to its initial position

You can also switch to a 2D view for a simplified, top-down perspective. Finally, you can toggle walls on or off, depending on your needs and required visibility.

For better precision, we recommend using an external mouse rather than the laptop trackpad.

Isolate and Inspect Individual Rooms

To focus on a specific room, double-click it directly in the plan.

Once selected, the room will be isolated, allowing you to focus on that specific area of your project.

You can choose between two display options:

  • Fully isolate the room, hiding the surrounding areas
  • Keep a contextual view, showing the room within the full floor plan

You can switch between these views using the toggle icon in the right-hand menu. To return to the full layout, click the Back button.

Access the Asset Manager from the 3D Viewer

When hovering across the project, the name of the room you’re pointing at appears in the top-left corner of the screen.

While a room is selected and isolated, hovering over equipment will display each item’s name.

Clicking the “i” icon opens the Asset Manager panels. From there, you can browse detailed information and navigate between assets using the arrows at the top of the modals.

Create Resevations from the 3D Viewer

There are two ways to reserve assets directly from the 3D Viewer:

1. Use the Reservation Modal

  1. Open the reservation modal in the top-left corner.
  2. Search for rooms or equipment by name.
  3. Complete the reservation details and click Save.

For a detailed explanation of reservation categories, availability checks, and conflict handling, refer to the Agenda user guide.

2. Reserve from Selected Equipment

  1. Click once on a piece of equipment to select it.
  2. Click the “i” icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Click Book selected equipment.
  4. Adjust the dates and fill in the required fields in the reservation form.
    • The selected asset has already been already added.
  5. Click Save to confirm the reservation.

To reserve multiple items at once, hold Ctrl while selecting several pieces of equipment.

Help Center Access

From within the project, you can access the Help Center at any time. This allows you to find additional guidance or report issues through the Jira support system.

Exiting the Project:

By clicking this button, you exit the project and return to the main menu of the HakoBio platform.
