Learn how to access and navigate the Free Walk on the HakoBio web platform.
Unlike a Guided Tour, the Free Walk allows you to explore a digital twin project freely, without following a predefined path. It gives you full control to walk around the facility and inspect each area at your own pace.
Accessing Free Walk on the Web Platform
To start a free walk-through of your project:
- From the Solution Builder, choose Enter a project in the controls to the right (below 2D).
- When prompted, select Free Walk instead of Guided Tour.
A HakoBio project with a Guided Tour can also be accessed in Free Walk mode. It’s the same detailed 3D environment, but any attachments, media, or URLs linked to the Guided Tour steps will not be available in the Free Walk.
Exploring Your Project
Once you’ve entered Free Walk mode:
- Choose your starting point: Click anywhere on the map to set your initial location.
- Move around: Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to walk through the 3D space.
- Look around: Move your mouse or touchpad to change your view.
- Inspect equipment: Click on objects to open their product pages and access more information.
Other Ways to Access Free Walk
In addition to the web platform, you can access the Free Walk mode using the desktop app or a VR headset, offering higher resolution and a more immersive experience.
Desktop App
- Launch the HakoBio desktop application.
- Open the project you want to explore.
- Select Enter Project and choose Free Walk when prompted.
The desktop app is currently not supported on macOS.
VR Headset
- Launch the HakoBio App in your VR headset.
- Go to the Projects tab.
- Select the project you want to enter. Once the project is fully loaded, you will automatically enter Free Walk mode.
